The Kite Runner ripped through my soul. All of Khaled Housseini's books have brought me to tears. And I think part of that is because you know that this horrifying tragedy and nightmare is actually real for some people in the world. He draws you out of lala land and exposes you to some of the issues you have turned a blind eye to. Housseini has the spectacular and rare talent of blending tragedy and kife lessons ito masterful pieces.
